Neo Zed ships with integrations for OpenAI, Anthropic, Amazon Bedrock, Mistral, xAI, OpenRouter, Vercel AI Gateway, and any OpenAI-compatible endpoint. Drop a key into settings.json and the editor talks to your provider directly — Neo Zed does not proxy or mark up inference.
The assistant panel supports chat, inline code actions, and agentic workflows through the Agent Client Protocol. External agents can drive the editor without a plugin.
If you would rather let the fork handle provider routing, an optional cloud gateway is available. It is off by default and is completely separate from the desktop app's built-in providers — you choose which path your prompts take.
